The supported components and service offering description
The solution does support the following components, the components and the service offering the represent are described in the table below:
Component | Service Offering Description |
Active Directory | Hosted Organization: A mandatory component, the fundamental of the lifecycle of an organization and its users starts here. Although the platform as such supports multiple organizations (which translates in an organizational unit with users ) with one or more domain names per customer, each customer will have one organization unit and one or more domain names. The services offerings are assigned on a per organization base through hosting plans, once a service offering is available to an organization it can be assigned to its users.
The organization as such and domain names that do apply to this organization are created by a reseller administrator or higher, once the place holder is created organization administrators can maintain their environment within the boundaries as defined by the hosting plans
The organization name equals to the primary domain name, the domain name will be added as the suffix of the user login names. User properties, state and so-called address book properties are maintained through this service offering.
The DNS for the domains defined can be maintained with resource records. These domains other than the primary domain are not automatically accepted domains for email traffic; this has to be defined through the Exchange Hosted service offering.
Communication with the active directory will be based on a preferred domain controller
Deletion of the user will result in the deletion of assigned service offering resource such as mailboxes.
Deletion of an organization will result in the deletion of all assigned objects and their resources such as users, mailboxes, sharepoint sites, dns zones etc. |
Hosted Exchange 2010 SP2 | Exchange Hosted: This optional service offering provides messaging facilities, based on the hosting plan email capabilities and quotas are provided. The distinction between so-called Small and Medium Enterprises and consumers is determined by the hosting plan which either provided the capability of a shared address book or a completely isolated environment. A hosting or service plan can contain multiple mailbox plans defining different capabilities and mailbox sizes. The following components can be provisioned:
Mailbox store allocation will be dynamically load balanced across the assigned database availability group, it is not possible to dedicate a specific database to a specific customer. Quota management is based on amount of accepted domains, mailboxes, contacts, storage, and distribution lists
Upon activation of this service offering the appropriate DNS entries are created when the external DNS is part of the hosting plan |
OCS 2007 R2 | OCS 2007 R2 Hosted: This optional service offering provides core unified communications facilities. Core unified communications facilities are instant messaging, enhanced presence, audio and video conferencing, application sharing and web conferencing. Based on the hosting plan the following unified specific facilities can be enabled, once enable they can be assigned to an user when enabling this user for this service offering:
Quota management takes place on a per user bases. Different with different pools can be created where this mechanism can be used to load balance or direct the users to a specific pool.
This principal is that all customers will connect through a general url to this service offering, client configuration will be manual. |
Lync Server 2010 | Unified Communications: This optional service offering provides core unified communications facilities. Core unified communications facilities are instant messaging, enhanced presence, audio and video conferencing, application sharing and web conferencing. Based on the hosting plan the following unified specific facilities can be enabled, once enable they can be assigned to an user when enabling this user for this service offering:

Sharepoint Foundation 2010 | Collaboration Team sites: This optional service offering will create collaboration team sites. The provisioning process is based on building a container, once the site administrator accessed the site he can indicate which site template to use for this particular site. User management takes place through the sharepoint foundation 2010 user management modules within the sharepoint environment and outside of the control panel solution.
Quota management is enforced on an amount of sites and a certain amount of storage. |
CRM 4.0 | Hosted MS CRM 4.0: This optional service offering provides a hosted Microsoft CRM 4.0 environment. This environment does not contain any specifics or customization of Microsoft CRM 4.0 to accommodate the objectives or intentions of this particular customer. |
Windows 2008 R2 DNS | DNS Hosting: This optional service offering allows customer to manage their DNS zones within the Windows 2008 based DNS Server within this platform such as primary domains, subdomains, A, NS, CNAME, TEXT, and SRV Records. Domain name registration is not integrated within the control panel solution although the eCommerce module does provide integration API/components with registrars such as ENOM. The domains to manage are those domains defined within the Hosted Organizations service offering |
IIS 7.5 Webhosting | Web Hosting: This optional service offering provides a so-called webhosting environment. The service offering allows to create websites and enable to following management capabilities:

SQL 2008 R2 Datahosting | Data Hosting: This optional service offering provides a so-called data hosting environment. The service offering allows to create databases and enable to following management capabilities:

Black Berry Enterprise Server | BES Hosting: This optional service offering provides the provisioning of so-called BlackBerry devices on a blackberry enterprise server that does allow users with a blackberry device to access their email through these devices. Quota management is enforced on a per user base |
Virtual Private Server | Virtual Private Server: This optional service offering provides the provisioning of so-called virtual machines; these virtual machines are dedicated and private operating system instances running on shared hardware. This service offering allows to create virtual machines and enabled the following management capabilities:
Quota management is based on number of VM’s and resources allocated such as cores, memory and disk space |
